Virgin's Protection Magic Characters

Main Characters

The girl who wants to be a Witch

Brigit

The protagonist of Virgin's Protection Magic.

She's a fairly ordinary girl, who wanted to become a Witch because she admired her dear old Grandma, the Witch of her village. This is her story.

Personality wise, she's a bit airheaded, and blunders into many situations she could have avoided. However, she's very, very positive. Most of the time, no matter what hardships she faces, a shrug of her shoulders and a quick "Eh" are enough to restore her sunny disposition.

She's been brought up as a very good girl, with a strong sense of chastity. She sincerely believes that she should protect her virginity so that she can and one day give it to her lover on their wedding night. Of course, this means her knowledge of sex is pretty much nil.

The snarky black cat

Felengel

Gwendolyn's Familiar, Felengel accompanies Brigit to give sage advice, and keep an eye on her.

Well, that was the plan, anyway. While Felengel does give advice, Brigit dismisses it as overly cynical and nihilistic, and so Felengel resorts to sarcasm to try and make his points. Behind this though, Felenel does care about people, and doesn't want to see anyone of his friends come to harm.

Brigit gives him a nickname during their travels: "Sooty". Felengel hates it. His greatest fear is that his nickname will get spread amongst all the other Witch's and Familiar's.

Witches

The slutty, slightly sadistic teacher

Gwendolyn

Brigit didn't know it when she became Gwendolyn's apprentice, but Gwendolyn is one of the Kingdom's Great Witch's. She lives in the Witch's Forest, one of the areas of the Kingdom under the direct control of the Witch's. The only reason why Brigit became her apprentice is because Brigit's village lies just a short distance from the Witch's Forest.

One of the reasons why she lives on her own, away from any towns is simply because she's fed up with her role as Great Witch. There are so many people who seek her aid, and she'd much rather keep to herself and her research. Of course, she attends the Royal Court when required, but she'd much rather just spend time researching and training apprentices...

There are rumours surrounding the Witch's Forest, about a Witch who would turn trespassers into Frogs, or drain all the seed from a virgin man. Of course, these rumours are greatly exaggerated. And really, it's virgin girls who have to be careful...

The unlucky-in-love lady who's desperate to marry

Branwen

/images/virgins-protection-magic/branwen_portrait.png

Living in the last town before the Witch's Forest, Branwen is good friends with Gwendolyn. When Brigit finds herself in Wiccaholt, Branwen is there to continue training her.

She's a good Witch, and an excellent friend. She tries to keep her issues to herself, but they come out from time-to-time in the most unexpected ways. Even though she's quite young, people treat her as if she's quite old, and she's worried she that her reputation might stop her from finding an attractive young man to marry.

She also knows that some people in Wiccaholt have given her, well, less than flattering nicknames. Hopefully something can be done about that..

The pure, modest, prodigal Witch

Llywelyn

/images/virgins-protection-magic/llywelyn_portrait.png

Stationed in the perpetually snowy town of Frisbee, Llywelyn is an incredibly talented Witch. Even though she's the same age as Brigit, she's been a fully qualified Witch for a few years, and has considerable talent.

Despite her talents, she is a bit insecure. People in Frisbee treat her differently, because she's a Witch, and her fellow Witch's treat her differently because she's younger than they are, and so she doesn't get much of a chance to socialise. She tries to hide it, but what she really wants is a friend, another Witch who's about the same age as her...
